One of Australia’s well known radio personalities. Dan Jones has built a reputation in broadcasting that spans over a decade.
Having worked as a #1 rating announcer and content manager with the some of the largest radio networks in Australia. Dan has bypassed tired radio conventions of the past and has driven ratings and tracking success at radio stations in Sydney, Wollongong, Canberra and Townsville to name a few.
Between 2014 and 2016 Dan at Canberra’s Hit 104.7 had the #1 rating show in any time-slot on any station on any weekday (21.9% at peak), except for Hamish and Andy, which he led into. As a weekend morning duo Dans program increased TSL (time spent listening) within one survey went from 36mins to 1:01hrs and share increased from 34.8% to a massive 62% for the stations core demo of 18-24.
Most recently Dan has been focusing ratings success for multiple radio networks in Sydney and the Illawarra for WIN Radio and Hope Media. Both organisations have reported successes in their most recent tracking and respective surveys pertaining to his radio shows and content he produces.
Dan has a Graduate Diploma in Psychology, a Bachelor of Organisational Leadership, a Diploma in Management and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. He is currently seeking to complete a final year of honours in psychology to complete the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council’s 4 year psychology sequence.
Through his experience in psychology and broadcasting with the largest networks in the country such as Southern Cross Austereo and the Australian Radio Network; Dan regularly serves as a columnist on industry mental health issues. He also volunteers regularly as a mentor at a Juvenile Justice Centre in Sydney and has volunteered at Juvenile Justice Centres in different Australian states while working in media around the country.
